Classical Vocal Studies
I earned a Bachelor of Art degree in music from Brigham Young University-Idaho. My studies emphasized vocal pedagogy and performance and also included theatre performance and Spanish. I participated in productions through both the Music and Theatre departments, performing in university- and student-directed shows. Among my favorites are the Opera Scenes productions of Pirates of Penzance, Carmen, and Hansel and Gretel.

Life and Love
I am married to Daniel Johnson, a fellow singer and BYU-I graduate. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree and intends to pursue a career in opera performance and teaching at the collegiate level. We met in the fall of 2010 and fell in love working on the university's production of The Marriage of Figaro. Every time I hear him sing or when I hear the strains of Mozart, I fall in love with him all over again. Singing with him is one of the greatest joys of my life.

In addition to a passion for classical vocal music (ranging from early Baroque through the Classic and Romantic periods), I love strings, particularly the violin. The processes of HOW "learning" and "skill development" take place intrigue me, and I am forever searching for the most effective ways to teach myself and others. I come from a family of artists in all directions: sculptors, musicians, writers, poets, orators and philosophers...and so, I love to live.
